Taking music to new levels

With our eyes on High Performance Season this term, we were intent on taking our Music performances to a new level. All the students and staff worked incredibly hard to learn their notes, lyrics and even their choreography. Across all year groups, the performances at NIDA were an absolute hit. We’ve seen a marked improvement in the students’ capabilities.

This term, we took a break from external gigs but our Song Writing class powered on, creating some special work. This term we welcomed to the team Mr Paul Aiden – who is a songwriter and producer in his own right. We are so lucky to have him work with the students to create their compositions in preparation for a McDonald College album, which we hope to launch in Term 4.

In addition to regular song writing classes, some of our students entered their compositions into the Triple J Original Composition Competition. All the students entered the National Song writing Competition 2022 run by the Australian Children’s Music Foundation. We wish all the students the best with their entries.
