Term 4 has been filled creativity, growth, and collaboration for both our Junior and Senior Musical Theatre students. The energy and passion they’ve brought to their work have made it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
Senior Spotlight: Devising Dreams
Our Seniors have been diving headfirst into the world of devising. They’ve taken ownership of the entire creative process, from the initial spark of an idea to the final stages of planning a full production. It’s been inspiring to watch them navigate the complexities of concept development, character building, and collaborative storytelling. Their dedication to their craft and their ability to work together as a team is truly impressive.
Junior Journey: Lights, Camera, Action!
Our Juniors have been equally busy, immersing themselves in the world of film with their music video project for Fame. This project has given them the opportunity to not only showcase their performance skills but also to learn the technical aspects of production. From planning and filming to editing and organizing, our Juniors have tackled every challenge with enthusiasm and professionalism. It’s amazing to see their confidence grow as they learn to work both in front of and behind the camera.
Industry Insights: Learning from the Best
Throughout the term, both year groups have had the incredible opportunity to learn from industry professionals. We’ve been fortunate to welcome guest lecturers such as Nicole Stinton from NIDA, Lexi Mav, Assistant Choreographer for The Deb Film, and Lisa Campbell from Campbell Casting. Their masterclasses have provided invaluable insights into the professional world of Musical Theatre, inspiring our students to reach new heights.
Capping Off the Term: A Triumphant Cabaret
To conclude the term, we hosted a Cabaret performance in the Fraser Centre, which was a celebration of our students’ hard work and dedication. The solos and duets they performed, chosen by themselves, showcased their growth and talent. It was a truly inspiring evening, and we couldn’t be prouder of our students’ achievements.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As we head into a well-deserved break, we’re filled with gratitude for our students’ commitment and passion. We can’t wait to see what they’ll accomplish in 2025. With such a talented and dedicated group of individuals, we’re confident that the future holds even greater successes.
