Dramatic Performances and Bright Futures

During Term 4, our actors shone again during High Performance with some incredible performances. The Junior stream tackled sone of Shakespeare’s classic scenes with dexterity and passion. The senior actors dived deep into complex scenes from ‘Never Closer’, ‘Cosi’ and ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’, while Alani Winn and Bella Ray Rogers flew the Acting Stream flag with their own Featured Artist performances – two highlights of the night.

The Ann McDonald Scholarships, saw a record number of students vying for the award. Jeffery Dimi and Bella Ray Rogers were worthy recipients of this coveted award, succeeding over a very strong field of candidates. It was encouraging to see so many students audition for this important award.

To finish the year, we had our Primary and Junior actors completing some amazing short films. Their creative choices were wonderful, and we have some budding film stars amongst us. The Senior actors, under the watchful eye of Shaina Manshaee, Thomas Cristovao, and Samual Naufafu, presented entertaining and mesmerising productions under the student-led initiative.

Last but not least, we farewelled four treasured members of our Acting family; Sammy, Cooper, Alani, and Tara. Who knows where the future will take these four but, for now, the Acting Steam is a little dimmer without them with us.
