International Award recipient | Cooper Elbourn
It’s been a busy few months for one of our aspiring Dance stream students, Cooper, in Year 7. Over the June/July period he competed at the Dance World Cup in Portugal winning Australia’s very first gold medal and also receiving a scholarship for a London dance event.
He also attended workshops in Puglia, Italy, as part of the prize he received from the Hollywood Bound Dance competition earlier in the year. At these workshops he was awarded scholarships to Broadway Dance Centre, Steps on Broadway, New AMDA, all based in New York.
Later in September, Cooper competed at the Get the Beat National dance competition in Queensland and placed in the Top 5 for Top 5 dance off with 45 competitors aged 13-14 years old. He also took the National Title for winner of 13 years of age for Lyrical and Student Choreography. Finally, in the Champs of Champs section with 63 competitors (aged 13-14 years) he placed in the Top 5, awarding him a place in the Dream Dance Junior cast travelling to Singapore in June 2020.
These are fantastic achievements from Cooper whilst he is balancing his studies school. We wish him all the best with his future opportunities.
