Logie nominated actor and singer / songwriter – Ayesha Madon

A former Musical Theatre student of The McDonald College, Ayesha Madon is a Logie-nominated actor and a singer / songwriter best known for her role as Amerie in Netflix’s Heartbreak High 2022, a reboot of the classic Australian 1990s teen drama.

Ayesha graduated from Victoria College of the Arts (VCA) in 2018 with a degree in musical theatre.

In 2019, she had her stage debut at Belvoir Theatre, Sydney in the production Fangirls. Ayesha’s other theatrical credits include the role of Juliet for the Australian Shakespeare Company’s production of Romeo and Juliet, Vivid White for the Melbourne Theatre Company and as an ensemble cast member for Morning Melodies .

She made her TV series debut in The Moth Effect (2021). And in 2022, she was cast in the lead role for Heartbreak High 2022 which remained in the top 10 shows on Netflix in Australia for five weeks following its release and reached the top 10 in over 43 countries. The second series is in the pipeline.

In 2023, she had a role in the series Love Me which stars fellow alum Bojana Novakovic.

Ayesha is also a singer-songwriter “whose ability to encapsulate a slice of the human experience into a song is a talent that truly sets her apart.” Her most recent drop Fish and Chips was accompanied by a music video, self-directed and created with her co-star, Gemma Chua-Tran. She has toured with fellow alum Meg Mac.

Ayesha has just been nominated for a 2023 Logie: the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent, which will be screened on 30 July.
