Swan Lake – Secondary School Classic Ballet
The McDonald College Secondary Ballet Stream is delighted to present Swan Lake.
A full-length ballet in 4 acts with just one interval, Swan Lake tells the tragic love story of Prince Siegfried and the Swan Princess, Odette. Only true love can break the curse that sees Odette and her companions as swans by day and humans by night. Von Rothbart, the evil enchanter, uses his power and magic to trick the young prince who declares his love to the wrong princess. Only their eternal love can break the curse and see them reunited forever in another world beyond death.
Swan Lake has a running time of approximately 2 hours, including one 20-minute intermission, and is suitable for audiences of all ages. Patrons should be aware that this production uses theatrical haze.
