Exploring the Museum of Human Disease: A Year 12 Biology Excursion
On Wednesday, February 12th, our Year 12 Biology class embarked on an eye-opening excursion to the Museum of Human Disease at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). This unique museum, nestled within the UNSW campus, offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of human pathology and disease.
As they stepped into the museum, they were greeted by an array of exhibits showcasing real human specimens. These specimens, preserved through various techniques, provided them with a tangible understanding of the diseases they study in our textbooks. From cardiovascular diseases to infectious diseases, the museum covers a wide spectrum of medical conditions, each with detailed explanations and visual aids.
One of the highlights of the visit was the interactive displays. These hands-on exhibits allowed students to engage with the material in a more meaningful way. They could examine the effects of smoking on the lungs, understand the progression of cancer, and even see the impact of lifestyle choices on our health. The interactive nature of the museum made the learning experience both enjoyable and memorable.Year 12 Biology Excursion to UNSW’s Museum of Human Disease.
