Jordan Micallef wins prestigious scholarship
The Marten Bequest from Australia Council is one of the richest prizes young artists can receive valued at $50,000.
So, we are proud to share that Jordan Micallef has been announced as a recipient this year.
Jordan left us two years ago to join the English National Ballet School. Mrs Kohler described Jordan as “committed, intelligent, humble, appreciative and very talented.”
This is the second time a McDonald College alumnus has received the scholarship with Harrison Lee being a recipient in 2017. Following 2 years of study at the Royal Ballet School in London, Harrison is now a member of the Royal Ballet Company.
The bequest is intended to give talented young artists the chance to explore, study and develop their artistic gifts through travelling either interstate and / or overseas. The scholarships provide financial support under the categories acting, architecture, ballet, instrumental music, painting, poetry, prose, sculpture and singing, to help talented Australian artists achieve their dreams.
Jordan is the only recipient this year in the category of ballet. Congratulations, Jordan.
