Senior Musical Theatre students lit up the sky like a flame!
It was a moment of explosive exuberance when the curtain came up on the Senior Musical Theatre students’ take on Fame – The Musical on 2 June.
Based on the lives of students at a New York High School for the Performing Arts, many of the themes are very close to our hearts.
Directed by the College’s esteemed stage veteran, Mrs Dolores Dunbar, Fame revealed the depth of talent of our students. “The story of fostering the talents of emerging actors, singers, musicians, dancers… it’s what we do here every day.”
Mr Kraft, told us, “Some of my most rewarding moments have been when someone from outside the school community sees one of our shows for the first time – and gives praise about the professionalism and quality of the productions, and I’m reminded of just what a special place this is.”
Mrs Kohler said, “the students obviously had a ball performing to five sold-out shows of appreciative audiences and our Conference Centre transforms beautifully into a professional theatrical space with raked seating. Bravo to all involved, cast, crew, musicians and staff – with a special mention to Mr Peter Eirth who seamlessly designed, built and bumped the set in and out.”
