Graduation Ball
The tradition of recognising The McDonald College Graduate Classes of Year 6 & 12 was celebrated in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Hotel. The formality of this event marks the achievements of both the Year 12 Graduates and the Year 6 students by combining these two milestones by drawing our attention to the completion of 13 years of schools for the graduates and provides our Year 6 students the goal of completion yet to come.
As always the evening was one of splendour and grace. Through Mrs Gilbert’s organisation and the support of many others the evening was filled with acclamation, performance, tradition, refinement and friendship.
It has been interesting to watch so many of these young adults navigate their way through the College and emerge as confident, capable and articulate young adults.
The night by design celebrates tradition, the procession and citations of graduates, The Merry Widow Waltz and the refinement of dark suits and white gowns makes the College Graduation Ball a unique experience in many ways. Watching the proud faces of parents, friends and staff reminds us of the importance of celebrating achievement and the conclusion of study in both the Junior and Secondary school years.
It was so satisfying to see the happiness of the graduates and their families and friends, the comradery of the students and the anticipation of what may follow for each of these graduating students.
