Meet Thomas Rethati, a former student whose journey from our College walls to a national leadership role in retail development is nothing short of inspiring. After graduating at The McDonald College, Thomas acquired a degree in Property Economics.

After completing his degree, Thomas secured an internship with Mirvac, a well-known property developer. This opportunity allowed him to gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the industry. The internship was a stepping stone that led to further opportunities. Thomas’s next significant step was joining Woolworths’ graduate program, where he focused on retail property. This program was instrumental in shaping his career, providing him with comprehensive training and exposure to various aspects of retail property development. Upon completing the program, Thomas was appointed to Woolworths’ development team, where he contributed to building shopping centres for their stores. Nearly seven years ago, Thomas made a pivotal move to Frasers Property, another leading developer based in Rhodes Corporate Park. Initially joining their development team, Thomas’s expertise and leadership skills quickly became evident. Recently, he has taken on the role of Retail Development Director, a national position responsible for overseeing all retail developments. Although his role has a national scope, many of the projects are based in Victoria, requiring him to travel there every fortnight. As the Retail Development Director at Frasers Property, Thomas is at the helm of planning and executing retail developments across the country. His role involves strategic decision-making, project management, and ensuring the successful completion of various retail projects. Thomas’s leadership continues to drive the success and innovation of Frasers Property’s retail developments. Thomas Rethati’s journey from a university graduate to a national leader in retail development is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and passion for the property industry. His achievements serve as an inspiration to current students and alumni, demonstrating that with the right foundation and determination, remarkable career milestones can be achieved.
