Jordan Micallef took up dancing at a young age, almost by accident. “I started ballet to fill in time while waiting for my sister during her ballet class, and then fell in love with it.’ Jordan was one of four children who studied at The McDonald College.
Jordan commenced dance training at the age of 7 at The McDonald College where he trained in ballet, contemporary, lyrical, tap and jazz.
In 2017, Jordan attended the Youth American Grand Prix Finals in New York City, where he received short-term scholarships to the Royal Ballet School and Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, as well as a summer school scholarship to the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. The following year, Jordan also received a short term scholarship to the Dutch National Ballet Academy through the Youth America Grand Prix Semi-Finals.
In 2018, Jordan was incredibly privileged to receive placement offers for full-time classical ballet training at the: Australian Ballet School, Dutch National Ballet Academy, English National Ballet School, and Houston Ballet Academy.
In September 2019, Jordan commenced full-time classical ballet training at the English National Ballet School.
While at the English National Ballet School he was awarded the Marten Bequest scholarship for ballet, awarded by the Australian Council for the Arts.
After completing three years of professional training at the English National Ballet School Jordan obtained a diploma in Professional Dance awarded by Trinity College and graduated with the class’ highest ballet assessment mark.
He went on in 2022 to join the National Ballet of Canada as an apprentice for the 2022/2023 season.
Jordan has recently joined The Sarasota Ballet in Florida, United States as a corps member.
