ATYP Saturday Drama classes at the College

The McDonald College is proud to present this unique partnership with the Australian Theatre of Young People (ATYP), which is open to everyone. If you’re looking for a fun, inclusive and challenging drama class outside of school, then our ATYP Saturday Drama Classes at the College are for you.

ATYP Saturday Drama classes at the College are not just for students who attend the College. They’re open to all students who are in Years 4 – 12.

  • The classes run every Saturday during the school term
  • Students enrol in a two-term program
  • Class times vary for the different age groups (see below for details)

There is an end-of-term performance where students will work with their teaching artist to create a showcase performance for family and friends.

The program is facilitated by dedicated, industry-trained teaching artists, actors, writers, directors and theatre-makers. Classes will make use of The McDonald College’s purpose-built performance and rehearsal spaces. You will develop and build upon voice, movement and performance skills. Classes can include acting for stage, acting for screen, comedy, drama, verbatim theatre, improvisation, devising, self-devised work, audition techniques and many other drama and theatre skills.

We look forward to welcoming you to these fun, inclusive and challenging drama classes.

We offer a reduced rate for one term only option for those students who can’t make it to both terms. This offer is subject to availability.
